$3.2M CLUBHOUSE EXPANSION PROJECT
Foundation and Building Shell: Wright Construction – Interior Work: Rely-Ex Contracting
Thank you to all the people that have donated to date. However, we still need more financial support. The Hilltops are partnering with the National Sport Trust to allow donations to our Clubhouse Campaign to receive a tax credit.
If you donate less than $200 you will receive a 29% tax credit. If you donate more than $200 you will receive a 44% tax credit and if you donate over $500, we will add your name to our donor wall in the new clubhouse.
The Clubhouse expansion project is important to our future success, and to the development of the young men who ARE Hilltops. Not only do they learn about the game, but they also learn about perseverance, determination and tenacity. Our players, coaches and staff are proud of our history in light of our mandate, and we are excited about our future. The clubhouse is an integral part of that future.
The current building was built in 1950 for a thirty-person team for that decade. Now, close to seventy years later, our organization has expanded. We have gone from a three-person coaching staff to a group of ten, and from thirty players to eighty. Essentially, we have outgrown our existing facility. We are proposing an expansion to create a new clubhouse for the Saskatoon Hilltops so we may better meet the team and community needs. The current facility is crowded and inadequate.
The 10,000 square foot facility will be built on one level, and will primarily serve the players and staff – while servicing the fans and the Saskatoon community. The newly expanded clubhouse will include a Director’s room, film rooms, a players’ locker room, a trainers’ room, an equipment room, a weight room, washrooms, showers and a coaches’ office. The building will be energy efficient, with a state-of-the-art security system to protect our historic files.
Competitive football has changed tremendously in the last fifty years, and the Hilltops need to keep up. Our present-day facility lacks many amenities; for example, there is only one toilet and two urinals for eighty players. An upgraded facility would support present and future need.
Serving the needs of the community is very important to the Hilltops. We open our clubhouse to many community events such as football camps, minor football meetings, and various community functions. A newly-expanded clubhouse will not only continue this tradition, but will allow other community groups to access the facility. A new clubhouse will also help us attract future national championships. The economic impact of bringing in such events is undoubtedly positive for the greater Saskatoon area. The Hilltops will champion these opportunities with a newly-expanded clubhouse.
